Areas of county suffer storm damage Saturday
Severe weather caused damage to the county Saturday, but Walthall emergency operations manager Royce McKee said damage from the storms was not as bad as in years past.
He said there were no injuries and the county’s volunteer fire service personnel responded to downed trees and damaged homes and buildings. McKee said utility crews worked to get phone and electric service restored to the affected areas.
McKee said one man was trapped inside his home, just north of town on Hwy. 583, when a tree fell on it. He was rescued from the house and suffered no injury.
McKee said a chicken house at Sartinville was damaged while three nearby mobile homes were damaged, one having been blown off its foundation.
McKee said to report damage, take photos and contact him at 601-876-3823.
