Grace Langhauser Foret, 94, died April 28, 2023, at her home in Tylertown. She was a former resident of Waggaman, LA, where she and her husband, Claude, raised two sons Brian and Chris. Once she retired from West Jefferson Hospital, she and her husband of 70 years moved to Tylertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband Claude J Foret. She is survived by her children Brian Foret (Maggie) and Claude “Chris” Foret, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Foret was born in New Orleans one of 13 children to Antoinette Maquar Langhauser and Jules Langhauser. She was preceded in death by several siblings: Irwin Langhauser, Melva Langhauser Albrecht, Leah Langhauser Arnold, Ivil Langhauser DeRoche, Norman Langhauser, Clair Langhauser Kokemor, Yvonne Langhauser Kokemor, Joyce Langhauser Reuther, Betty Langhauser Truxilloand. She is survived by two sisters, Berna McEvoy, and Audrey Gornak.
She worked at Stuart’s Cafe in Angie for almost 30 years. She enjoyed going to work where she talked to all her customers while she served breakfast and lunch. Once she retired from Stuart’s Cafe, she had lunch daily with her friends at the Angie Nutrition Site Senior Center in Angie. Mrs. Foret also loved going to the Farmer’s Market on Tuesdays in Tylertown.
Mrs. Foret will be cremated and placed with her husband, Claude, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Raceland, LA. A celebration of her life will be scheduled for sometime later this summer.
