Mary Ann Harvey, 79 of Jayess, died May 24, 2023, at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg. She was born Jan. 12, 1944, in Tylertown.
Funeral services were May 27, 2023 at Sartinville United Methodist, burial in Sartinville Cemetery, Bro. Eddie Bates and Bro. Chance May officiating.
After marrying Jerry; she became a member of Sartinville United Methodist Church. She was active in the church choir, Vacation Bible school, and cemetery committee. Mrs. Mary had a great work ethic which she expressed by working in her yard growing flowers and cleaning her house.
She was preceded in death by her father Charlie Bates; mother Bertha Mae Bowlin Bates; brothers John Bates, W C Bates, Robert Bates, Marion Bates, Herbert Bates, Willie Bates, Aubrey Bates and Clyde Bates; sisters Mattie Boyd, Audrey Ferguson, Ruby Brekeen, and Doris Perry.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years Jerry Harvey; son Lynn Harvey (Stacey); daughter Daphne Knight (Douglas); grandchildren Austin Knight (Shelby), Cameron Boyd, and Kristin Carter; great grandchildren Kinsleigh Mitchell, Myles Knight, Mya Knight, Addison Freeman, Jamison Carter and Grayson Carter; longtime friend Dian Anthony.
Pallbearers were Cameron Boyd, Jamie Bates, Mike Anthony, Ken, Keith Brekeen, Jim Speakes, Mark Tynes, and Greg Haney.
