Jewell “Jo” Georgene Magee, 84, of Tylertown, died June 9, 2023, at the Walthall General Hospital. She was born Jan. 11, 1939, in Tylertown.
Funeral services were set for June 12, 2023, at Capps Funeral Home, burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Bro. David Williams officiating.
Mrs. Magee enjoyed working in her yard and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Malcum Edward Magee; son Tony Malcolm Magee; father David Oscar Toney; mother Velma Mullins Toney; grandchild Lakeon Leigh Magee; brother Dan Toney; sisters Aline Toney Boyd, Mae Toney Jones, and Era Toney Grubbs.
Survivors include her daughters Belinda Magee VanDan (Gilmon) and Sheila Magee Zeigler (Larry); grandchildren Melissa Allen (Kent), Jodi Hutson, Carissa Johnson (Andrew), Lindsey Simnicht (Caleb), Landon Magee, and Lauren Magee; great grandchildren, Brianna Hutson (BJ), Ainsley Allen (Harrison), Matthew Hutson, Aiken Allen, Dylan Johnson and Jase Johnson; great great grandchild Kinley Jewell Fornea; brothers Jerry Ottis Toney (Pat).
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS, 39216.
Pallbearers were David Magee, JW Magee Jr., Matthew Hutson, Aiken Allen, Justin Cole, and Jerarkus Pittman.
Honorary pallbearers were Kent Allen, Andrew Johnson, Larry Ziegler, Gilmon VanDan, David Bankston, JW Magee, Jr., Bud Teal, Harley Harvey, Larry Toney, and Randy Toney.
