Marcus Magee, 66, of Tylertown, died May 26, 2023, in Tylertown after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 8, 1956, in Tylertown to Talmadge and Laura Magee.
He married Dianne Magee and to this union two children were born. He was fabric cutter, carpenter, fork lift driver, maintenance operator and held various positions in the landscape industry. He was active in his community and was quick to help with any home improvements or mishaps.
He was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist church. He was the vice president of the Mt Moriah community where he helped with restoration and upkeep. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his father, Talmadge Magee; one sister, Dorothy Nell Labat; one brother, Trudell Magee. His daughter, Kechandre Gatlin, died June 5, 2023.
Survivors are his wife, Dianne Magee; one son, Brian Magee of Baton Rouge; son-in-law, Tyrone Gatlin; two grandsons, Brandon Brown of North Carolina and Tyias Gatlin of Tylertown; three granddaughters, Taniya Gatlin, Laken Gatlin and Adasia Fortenberry, all of Tylertown; mother, Laura Bell Magee of Tylertown; six sisters, Eila Magee, Jeanette Magee, Shannon Magee, Sheila Magee Davis, all of Tylertown, Connie Magee of Mt. Hermon and Tracey (Dwayne) Dillon of Biloxi; one brother, Audrey “Eron” Magee of Tylertown.
Services were June 3, 2023, at Antioch MB Church, interment in Tylertown Cemetery.
