Al Douglas “Doug” Ratliff, Jr., 55, of Jayess, died May 25, 2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was born Dec. 2, 1967, in Tylertown to Ellis and Sarah Ratliff.
He was baptized at New Home Church of Christ Holiness at an early age and graduated Salem High School class of 1989. While in school he was active in basketball and football.
He worked in construction for several years and was also employed with Pride Offshore Drilling Co. for many year. In his spare time, he loved fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ellis Ratliff Jr.; grandparents, Harvey (Elizabeth) Ratcliff Sr. and Garfield (Marie) Ratliff.
Survivors are his parents, Ellis (Sarah) Ratliff of Jayess; son, TraDevin (Paris) Ratliff of McComb; one brother, Robert (Evelyn) Ratliff of Columbia; one sister, Sabrina (Keith) McClain of Jayess; four aunts, Leila (John) Peters of Jayess, Rose May, Annie Allen, and Carolyn Ratliff, all of New Orleans; five uncles, Jewel Ratliff, Theodore Ratliff, and J.T. (Bustered) Ratliff all of Jayess; one niece, LaNelsa Pittman of Brookhaven; nephews, Derek (Glinda) Cowart of New Orleans, Ketaevious McClain and Keimon McClain of Jayess.
Services were June 3, 2023, at New Home COCH in Jayess, pastor Richard Thomas officiating, interment in New Home Church Cemetery.
