Arnetha Alford-Anderson, 71, of Lancaster, Calif., died Aug. 3, 2023, at her residence.
Born Dec. 30, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Angelo Alford and Dessiree Coon Alford of Osyka.
She graduated from Eva Gordon Attendance Center in Magnolia and worked as a foster mother in California for many years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by six brothers, Percy Alford, George Alford, Robert Earl Alford, Eddie Alford, Ellis Alford, Waldo Alford; one sister, Viola Bishop; one sister-in-law, Irma Alford; special friends, Stella Varnado and Meneva Jones.
Survivors are her brother, Dillard (Dazie) Alford of Magnolia; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Alford of Oskya; God daughters, Kenyatta “Monique” Alford of McComb, and Carvah Jones of Tylertown; longtime partner,, Anthony Kirkland of Lancaster, CA; special friends, Otis Earl Smith and Bertha Amaker.
Funeral services were Aug. 12, 2023, at Washington Funeral Home, Rev. Ralph Garner officiating.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
