Marilyn “Pete” James Anthony died Aug. 16, 2023 at the age of 57 at her residence in Clifton, LA. She was born in New Orleans to the late Eddie B. James Sr. and Charlotte Lampton James on May 13, 1966
On April 12, 1986, she was married to Shelton Anthony. Her passion was helping others and she was a caregiver to many.
She was a member of Mesa Mt. Olive Baptist Church and served on the usher board, pastor’s aid and family and friends committee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie B. James Sr.; sister, Sharrie James Porter; brother-in-law, Jimmy Anthony Sr.; sister-in-law, Cynthia M Anthony; father and mother-in-law, Shelton Sr. and Myrtis Anthony.
Survivors are her husband of 37 years, Shelton Anthony Jr. of Franklinton; son, Shelton B. Anthony and fiance (Tiffany Bartley) of Saint Gabriel, LA; daughter Tiffany C. Anthony of Denham Springs, LA; mother, Charlotte L. James of Tylertown; brother, Eddie B. (Wilda) James Jr., of Tylertown; sisters Laura Anderson of Tylertown, and Shelita James of New Orleans; sisters-in-law, Debra Gilbert of Slidell, LA and Angela Anthony of Franklinton; granddaughter-in-love, Madison Bartley; five God-children, Webster Wilson, La’Tia Lowe, LaTavia McBride, Tamira Wilson and Krystal Badon; special friends, Priscilla Lowe, Patricia Wilson, Lynetta Brown, and Dorothy Stewart.
Funeral services were Aug. 26, 2023, at Faith In the Word Ministry in Franklinton, Dr. Lanny E. Williams officiating, interment at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness Cemetery in Franklinton.
