Chiefs improve to 1-2; Salem drops to 0-3 following last week’s games
Tylertown’s Chiefs turned in their first win of the 23-24 season. 42-14 over Jackson’s Jim Hill High School.
The win ups the Chiefs’ record to 1-2 for the season.
Previously, the Chiefs lost their Labor Day weekend game, a close 23-21 loss to Scott Central in the team’s home opener, after opening the season with a loss to Center Point High School of Birmingham, Ala., played at the East Central Community College field at Decatur.
No statistics were available from the Chiefs-Jim Hill game.
The Salem Wildcats were shut out 41-0 before a home crowd Friday night in a game with the Loyd Star Hornets. It was the first shut out for the Wildcats, who lost a 48-25 game to Bogue Chitto over the Labor Day holiday.

The Wildcats are set to play West Lincoln Friday night at West Lincoln.
