Evelyn Foster Conerly died Aug. 3, 2023. She was born March 13, 1931, to Matthew and Annie Foster of Tylertown.
She grew up in Tylertown and graduated from Oak Grove High School. She often looked after her younger siblings and cousins. After graduating high school, she moved to Chicago. In May of 1951, she married Albert Conerly Sr.
She enjoyed crafting ceramics, knitting , painting, designing weddings from her basement and hosting Tupperware and Avon parties.
Returning to Tylertown in 1995, she rejoined Oak Grove Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Conerly Sr.; three brothers, Lovell (Jacqueline), Ezell (Ann) and Odell; three sisters, Queen Esther (Donald), Ruby, Truvinia (Jacob); sons-in-law, Gerald Mitchell Sr., and Jeffery Bond.
Survivors are her children, Gloria, Diane, Albert (Darlene), Sharon (Will), Hamid, Timothy, Matthew (Camilla), and Anthony (Claudia); one sister, Emma Jean Senters; sister-in-law, Viola Brown; brother-in-law, Willie Coney.
Funeral services were Aug. 19, 2023, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Rev. Isaac Jones officiating, interment at Pink Hill MB Church.
