Craft show & bazaar Friday, Saturday, preview park rides

Get an early start on the holiday season at the Christmas in the Park Craft Show & Bazaar this Friday and Saturday, 3-9 p.m., at Southwest Events Center.
As a bonus, those attending the show and bazaar will be able to take preview tours through Christmas in the Park both nights. The trailer rides through the holiday lights take about 20-25 minutes and are $5 per person, in advance of the park walking tour on Nov. 22 and the driving tours beginning Thanksgiving night.
Park workers say the rides in an open-air trailer provide new perspective to the well-known light display
Booth space for the weekend event is sold out, said Pam Keaton, who is coordinating the event
“We have many artisans on hand, some have been here before and we have new crafters, as well. You’re sure to find something unique in the way of Christmas gifting.”
In addition to shopping for Christmas gifts and previewing the park lights, food is being provided by the Black Dog Cafe.
Ernie Whittington says the menu includes gumbo, chili and probably po’boy sandwiches.
Later in the holiday season Tylertown’s Country Christmas Festival features another craft show at Tylertown’s Agri-Heritage Building. It too includes many vendors and all the available booth space has been sold out.
