Holiday Open House Thursday kicks off Christmas events

As the holiday season draws closer, Tylertown businesses join with the Walthall Chamber of Commerce in sponsoring special events and activities geared toward families and children.
The town’s Holiday Open House Thursday, Nov. 16, is a day set aside for you to browse local stores to see the selection of Christmas gifting ideas businesses have chosen for this holiday season.
Business owners and their buyers gave careful thought to what would interest their customers when they went to markets earlier this year.
During Holiday Open House customers can take advantage of early holiday specials, browse while making their Christmas shopping list and enjoy refreshments.
Open House is followed Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17-18, by the Christmas Bazaar and Holiday Craft Show at Southwest Events Center from 3-9 p.m. both days, and by the advance premier of the area’s premier attraction, Christmas in the Park, featuring wagon rides from 5:30-8:30 p.m. both nights. The lighted display is consistently named as one of the best of its kind by the state’s newspapers, magazines and media outlets.
Christmas in the Park opens for its annual walking tour Wednesday, Nov. 22, beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is $5. Enter using the Southwest Events Center gate on Hwy. 48 East.
Beginning Thanksgiving night through New Year’s Eve, Nov. 23-Dec. 31, the regular park driving tours get underway from dusk to 8:30 p.m., seven nights a week, weather permitting. Cars are admitted for $5, commercial size vans, $10 and buses, $20. Enter the park for the driving tour using the Old Hwy. 98 East/Beulah Avenue gate at the Magee’s Creek bridge.
