Peggy Sue Barnes, 73, of Tylertown, died March 4, 2024, at her residence. She was born April 22, 1950, in Tylertown.
Funeral services were March 8, 2024, at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, burial in Centerville Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery (Dexter), Bro. Tom Hudnall and Eld. Jason Skipper officiating.
Mrs. Barnes was a faithful member of Centerville Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where she used her talent playing the piano and organ. She enjoyed needle point, gardening, cooking new food dishes, and traveling. One of her favorite travel destinations was Mt. View, AR in the Ozark Mountains.
She was preceded in death by her father R.J. Ellis.
Survivors include her husband Price Eugene Barnes; son Doyce Barnes; daughter Carla Odom (Casey); mother Joy Faye Branch Ellis; grandchildren Justin Barnes, Adrienne Barnes, and Annistyn Odom; brother Jeffrey Ellis (Pam); sister Beverly Sumrall (Timothy).
Pallbearers were Byran Martin, Tonie Polk, Randall Barnes, Justin Barnes, Leland Sumrall, and Truman Hackworth.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Ajax, Timothy Sumrall, David Doig, and Hilton Holmes.
