Change in homestead? April 1 is deadline

If you had a change in your homestead exemption status in 2023, you’ll need to sign a new homestead exemption form by April 1, says tax assessor collector Carla Johnson.
Property owners with any of these changes last year should come by the tax assessor-collector’s office in the courthouse to sign a new homestead form:
•married, divorced or death of spouse;
•purchased or built a home;
•became 65 years old;
•became totally disabled or 100%DAV;
•purchased or sold land;
•changed deed.
The office is open 8-5 weekdays at the courthouse.
