Cynthia Ann Encardes “Cindy” Parker, 71, of Columbia, lost her battle with cancer and died Sept. 13, 2024. She was born in New Orleans to Emmett and Jane Marie Encardes and and was raised in the city of Westwego with her siblings, Emmett, Brenda, and Darlene. Mrs. Parker lived the majority of her life in Avondale, LA.
In 2021 she moved to Tylertown and found a home with The Church On Main in Columbia, eventually moving to Columbia in May of this year. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading her Bible and time with her prayer group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Emmett Encardes, Jr.; and a grandson, Nicholas Lasso. Cindy is survived by six children, Crystal Cardinale, Craig Cardinale (Vancena), Cara Hagge (Kent), Cody Encardes, Sr. (Megan), Adam Parker, and Abby Fruge (Jeremy); 22 grandchildren, Joseph Cardinale, Kassidy Cardinale, Madeline Allen (Gage), Alexandra Cardinale, Sophia Cardinale, Charlotte Cardinale, Chloe Cardinale, Reagan Hagge, Riley Hagge, Adler Hagge, Oliver Hagge, Zana Encardes, Taylyn Encardes, Cody Encardes, Jr., Eastyn Encardes, Madden Encardes, Lainey Fruge, Kinley Fruge, Molly Fruge, Josey Fruge, Brendan Parker, and Nicholi Parker; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Cardinale, Anderson Cardinale, Laleesha Lerma, and Baby Allen on the way; and two sisters, Brenda Adams (Kippy) and Darlene Encardes.
A funeral service to celebrate her life was at The Church On Main on Sept. 20, 2024, burial in Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, LA, Sept. 21, 2024, Rev. Brian Stewart officiating.
Pallbearers were Craig Cardinale, Cody Encardes Sr., Adam Parker, Kent Hagge, Jeremy Fruge and Cody Encardes Jr..
Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia was in charge of the arrangements.
