Clara Mae Hartzog, 85, of Baton Rouge, died Oct. 16, 2024. She was born May 22, 1939, in Improve of Walthall County to the late John Alfred Hartzog and Stella (Cotton) Hartzog. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Felder Hartzog, Lucious Hartzog, Charlie Ben Hartzog, Melvin Hartzog, and her sisters, Letha Gray and Daisy Thomas.
Mrs. Hartzog enjoyed attending Carson Springs Baptist Church in Mississippi and Living Hope Fellowship in Sherwood in Baton Rouge. She was a seamstress, cross stitch and embroidery. Clara had a passion for cooking, baking and making holiday candies. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden and going to the beach.
Survivors are her six children: Antoinette Bellah (Phillip), Daphne Ann Pellecchia Hartzog, Stephen A Campo Jr, Christopher Campo (Barbara), Paul Joseph Campo (Cynthia) and Tony Alfred Campo; siblings: Linda Stringer and Tony Breland; 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at her home in Improve Oct. 26, 2024, Rev. Mike Thomas presiding.
There was also a memorial service Oct. 28, 2024, at the Living Hope Fellowship in Sherwood Forest, Baton Rouge.
