Arts On Beulah Festival will be Saturday, May 3

The Walthall County Arts Council presents the inaugural “Arts on Beulah” festival to be held on Saturday, May 3, from 10 am until 6 pm. A portion of Beulah Ave will be closed to bring people together for a free downtown street party celebrating the hidden talents in our local community!
Admission is free!
There will be live entertainment celebrating the Performance Arts. We are showcasing talented local musicians and performers: Jeremy Threlfall, Mae Woodard, Danz Around America/Salem Stars, Vendora Harvey, Jennifer Ellis, Igniting Arts Academy, and others, with Otis Smith from Mood Muziq managing the stage.
Winston Fortenberry will be grilling up his famous brisket and pulled pork. Look for the Zeta Phi Beta sorority/ Delta Alpha Upsilon Zeta Chapter members in their blue shirts, who have volunteered to help serve BBQ plates and sandwiches by the old hotel. Magnolia House will be serving chicken wraps. Chef Ronell from Sno Blitz Cafe will have chili cheese fries, burgers and other goodies. The Yacht will have their specialty lemonades and coffee, and other dishes. Bluegoose Food Service will have tacos. For a little something sweet, see cookie vendor Cleia Threlfall or Deaton’s Delights. The Coffee Caboose will be open and serving their regular menu.
Plenty of shopping opportunities will be available from our art and crafts vendors with handmade works in diverse mediums by local and regional artists, including ceramics, painting, fiber arts, woodworking, jewelry, and more. Festival T-shirts will be available for $24. Businesses and other exhibitors are invited to show off their wares and services. We encourage local businesses to be open and offer specials for the festival. We want to highlight our local businesses and let people know what is available right here!
A Children’s Activities Area will have plenty of things to keep kids creatively busy. The University of Southern Mississippi’s “Conserving Our Environment Through Art” STEM on the Go team will be demonstrating traditional methods to make paint from natural materials, like rocks and sediment. Participants can then use this paint to design a habitat for native Mississippi species.
