Federal aid for tornado victims

MEMA continues to work with our federal and local partners to help survivors of the March 14-15 storms and tornadoes with their recovery.
Applicants are reminded that even if you have insurance, you are still encouraged to apply—additional funds may be available to you. Remember, FEMA can’t pay for losses your insurance will cover.
Survivors can visit the Walthall Emergency Operations Center, 908 Armory DriveCenter hours are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Saturday; closed on Sundays
When you apply, you will be asked to provide:
• A description of the damage
• Your address at the time of the disaster
• Your Social Security number
• Contact information
• If you have insurance, your policy number, agent or company
• Annual household income
• Your bank account information for direct deposit
Residents in the approved counties who sustained losses during the March 14-15 severe weather can also apply for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The disaster number is: DR-4874.
