A celebration of life for Ronald “Ronnie” Buren Holmes was June 16, 2025, at Topisaw Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Holmes, 78, of Bogue Chitto, died June 12, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Tylertown Feb. 20, 1947, to Atley Holmes and Maxine Roberts Holmes.
Holmes was a member of Magee’s Creek Baptist Church and attended Topisaw Baptist Church. He served as a Walthall County judge for several years and as a Mason for many years of his life.
He enjoyed sitting on his porch listening to the birds, watching westerns on TV, and “riding the block”.
Preceding him in death are his parents and brother, Hilton Holmes.
Survivors are his wife of 26 years, Karen Holmes; children, Chris Holmes (Gina), Dustan Pickett (Paytience), Heather Sterling (Craig), Lacey Bates (Nick), Joseph Holmes, and Logan Holmes (Katie); brothers, John Ray Holmes (Judy), Jerry Holmes (Willie Mae), and Milton Holmes (Sheila); 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven was in charge of the arrangements.
