Town to operate with $1.7M budget; no millage increase

The Town of Tylertown will operate with a total general fund budget of just under $1.7 million for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, according to a public hearing notice appearing in The Times. The city proposes no change in tax millage.
A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held Aug. 26, 6 p.m. at City Hall, 308 Beulah Avenue.
The town proposes that 49% of the budget, $837,463, be obtained through ad valorem taxes.
The decision not to increase ad valorem tax millage means you will not pay more in ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures and equipment and real property unless the assessed valuation of your property increased for the fiscal year 2025.
