Louis Edward Brodie, 92, of Poplarville, died Sept. 30, 2025. He was born March 14, 1933, in Tylertown, to the late Morris Leland Brodie and Bennie Mae Williamson Brodie.
Brodie began his career as hospital administrator at Lakeside Hospital in Metairie, LA, , then moved to work as hospital administrator, in Saudi Arabia. He came back to the U. S., to Poplarville and created his farm, Horse Stomp Ranch.
Survivors include his sons, Steve M. Brodie and Bert A. Brodie (Laura); daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” B. Shawl (Eric) and Ava B. Craig (Paul); grandchildren, Michael “Mike” Walsh (Elizabeth), Jesse Shawl, Megan Shawl (Tyler), Jacob Craig (Maura) and Adam Craig; great grandchildren Autumn Walsh, Piper Walsh and Brodie Walsh, and one more on the way; step grandchild Mason Craig; local survivors are cousins, Janice Brock and Joe Stinson.
Visitation was held at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, Oct. 7, 2025, with burial at Topisaw Baptist Church Cemetery in Ruth, Rev. Billy Smith officiating.
