Jordan Anthony, 2022 Tylertown High School graduate and 2025 NCAA 60m and 100m champion, claimed his first national title as a pro, winning the 60m at the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships in Staten Island, New York, on Sunday, March 1.
Anthony won in 6.45 seconds, overtaking 2016 World Indoor 60m champion Trayvon Bromell by two hundredths. Noah Lyles, the Olympic 100m gold medalist and four-time world 200m champion, was third in 6.51.
After the race, Lyles, one of Anthony’s training partners in Clermont, FL, near Orlando, handed the PURE Athletic Belt to Anthony (https://www.nbcsports.com/olympics/news/noah-lyles-jordan-anthony-usa-track-and-field-indoor-championships¬). The championship belt is a traveling trophy representing the fastest sprinter within their training group.
“Arkansas won yesterday,” Anthony told an interviewer, referring to the University of Arkansas men’s track and field team winning the 2026 SEC Indoor Championship on February 28. “I had to win today, you know,” he continued, grinning. “You know, I had to double it” (USA Track & Field Facebook).
