Tyronia “Tyrone” Magee, 66, of Franklinton, LA, died April 2, 2026, at his residence. He was born June 12, 1959, in Tylertown, to Sylvester Sr. and Maude Magee. He was raised in New Orleans, where he attended St. Matthew Baptist Church and graduated from G.W. Carver High School. He later attended Grambling State University.
On July 25, 1981, at the age of 23, Tyronia married Janice Robinson, and from this union, they had two sons, Tyrone “Tiny” and Tamod Magee.
Tyronia was a skilled welder who built a strong career through his craftsmanship. He worked at Trinity Marine for 26 years and later at Textron Inc./Marine and Land Systems for four years before retiring in 2019.
Tyronia enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In his later years, he recommitted his life and became a Watchcare member of Hosanna Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Bruce L. Brown Sr.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Sylvester Magee Jr. and Glendale Magee, as well as his paternal grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Magee; two sons, Tyrone (Shay) Magee of Hammond, LA, and Tamod (Tecole) Magee of Katy, TX; six grandchildren, Zavion, Armyne, Amir, Erin, Amari, and Paxton; his parents, Sylvester Sr. and Maude Magee of Tylertown; two brothers, Ronald (Mary) Magee of Richmond, TX and Connie Ray Magee of Tylertown.
A visitation was on April 10, 2026, at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Memorial Chapel, with funeral services on April 11, 2026, at Hosanna MB Church. Pastor Bruce Brown officiated the services with burial in Robinson Family Cemetery, Franklinton, LA. Please share condolences online at www.craftfuneralhome.org
