Eddie Lee Jones, 64, a Tylertown native, died on June 15, 2026, at his residence in California. He was born Sept. 21, 1961, in Tylertown, to Donald Sr. and Mary Jones. He was the fourth of seven children.
Eddie received his education at Tylertown School District. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Tylertown.
Eddie worked multiple jobs at Kellwood Co. of McComb for 20 years; he was a brick mason for 10 years, and he worked at Sanderson Farms for years before relocating to California for medical care. He was a popular music D.J., a die-hard sports fan, and he loved the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Donald Jones, Sr.; his brother, Curtis Jones; and three nephews, Marcus, Sean, and DeWayne.
Survivors include his son, Eddie Trey Jones of Tylertown; mother, Mary Jones of Fontana, CA; five siblings, Donald Jones Jr., (Diana) of Moreno Valley, CA, Patricia Jones-Thomas of Fontana, CA, Polly Moore (Dennis) of Victorville, CA, Hope Jones-Raiford (Jerry) of Tylertown; two aunts, Betty Jones of Los Angeles, CA, Gloria Beacham of Middleburg, FL; two uncles, Tim Smith of Queens, N.Y., and Marion Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Services were June 27, 2026, at St. Paul M. B. Church in Tylertown. Burial was in the St. Paul Church Cemetery. Services were entrusted to Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel, Tylertown.
