A funeral service for Lucille B Holmes, 95, of Tylertown, MS was Feb. 1, 2020, at Capps Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Willis officiating, burial at Hillcrest Memorial Garden.
Mrs. Holmes died at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg Jan. 31, 2020. She was born June 26, 1924, in Mississippi to the late Hettie and Theodore Brumfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hilton Holmes and her sister Glyndon Holmes.
Lucille was a member of Tylertown Baptist Church and the 50 plus Club. She was a travel coordinator who not only helped other people plan trips for themselves but also traveled worldwide and covered every continent and most countries. She would use her knowledge acquired during her travels to help those who used her as a coordinator.
Survivors include her nephews Bennie (Linda) Holmes and James McGehee; nieces Janice (Billy) Maddison, Jean (Bobby) Lowrey, and Susan (Dave) Patterson; great nieces Carmen (Jeff) Duncan, Amy Overby, Amber Lowrey, Jenny Lowrey, Mandy LeTort, and Cindy Fuller; great nephews Ryan (Whitney) Holmes, Josh Bruce, David Patterson, and Michael Patterson; great-great nephews Tate Duncan, Reed Duncan, and Collin Holmes, great great nieces Carley Holmes, Anna Claire Holmes.
Pallbearers were Frank Brumfield, Stanley Brumfield, Bobby Brumfield, Ansel Brumfield, and Nelson McKenzie.
