Ozzie Smith, 96, of Tylertown, died Feb. 3, 2020, at her residence after a brief illness. She was born Jan. 31, 1924, to the late Roscoe and Ida Mae Smith Ginn. She was a native of Tylertown and resided here until her death.
A funeral service for Mrs. Smith was Feb. 8, 2020, at Antioch MB Church, Tylertown, with Rev. Alton Carson officiating, interment in Tylertown Cemetery.
She was a lifetime member of Antioch MB Church. She had a passion for cooking, working at May’s Restaurant for several years, Stogner Fish Camp making hushpuppies and Tylertown Primary Cafeteria.
She was married to Truly Smith who preceded her in death. Four children were born to this union.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clyde Henderson; 13 brothers and sisters, daughter-in-law, Alfredia Smith.
Survivors are her son, Truly (Ollie) Smith, Jr,; three daughters: Trudy (Pete) Harvey, Debra Tripp and Priscilla Smith; two sisters; Ollie Jean Allen and Lucille May; daughter-in-law, Beatrice Henderson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
