Brown plans to retire April 30

Fifth district supervisor, Clennel Brown, told the board of supervisors at their Monday meeting that he plans to resign the post effective April 30.
Brown said he has prepared a letter which will be delivered to supervisors. He has suffered health problems which became more pronounced last year. Brown was first elected in 2011, taking office in 2012, succeeding Clifton “Pop” Carr, who decided not to seek re-election. He was re-elected in 2015 to the 2016-2020 term; and ran successfullyl for a third term in 2019, taking office in January 2020.
