Liquor, beer petitions collect 400 names in four-hour span
Traffic was steady throughout the four-hour period for workers collecting signatures on two petitions seeking to have the question of beer and light wine sales and liquor sales placed on the November ballot. The two petitions were available to sign between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. last Friday at Market Max 98, corner Hwys. 98 and 583, on Plaza Drive. A spokesman said the group collected 400 signatures during the time. The petition drives will be announced at other locations. Once completed, the petitions will have to be certified by the circuit clerk’s office to ensure they contain the correct numbers of registered voters for each of the two issues.
