Rotary Club scholarship application period underway


The Tylertown Rotary Club announces to all interested high school seniors and their parents that the 2021 Tylertown Rotary Club scholarship application period is underway and will continue through April 16. This year the Club is proud to announce that three $1000 scholarships will be awarded to three high school seniors that reside in Walthall County and will attend Southwest Community College in Summit in the fall to pursue academic degrees and career technical education degrees.
In addition to the Legacy Tylertown Rotary Club scholarship awarded this year, two new memorial scholarships have been established in honor of Bob and Lee Wood-Hote will also be awarded this year. One memorial scholarship will be awarded to pursue an academic degree and one memorial scholarship will be designated and awarded to a student attending the career technical education division of Southwest Community College. Each of the two memorial scholarships will be also be for $1000 each. Applicants for the Bob and Lee Wood-Hote scholarships must complete the application for Federal Pell Grant (FAFSA) and have the information sent to Southwest Community College school code 002436.
“The Rotary Club encourages all interested high school seniors to apply for the award”, says Daryl Hote, Rotary Club scholarship chairman. “We are very proud of all our students and are interested in their future success. We encourage all eligible high school seniors to apply.”
Applications are available through your high school counselor’s office or through any Rotary Club member.
The Tylertown Rotary Club scholarships are $1000 awarded to 3 high school seniors residing in Walthall County that will attend Southwest Community College. The scholarship competition will consider student high school grades and test scores, community involvement, financial need, technical vocational accomplishments and student interests.
Submit completed applications along with high school transcripts and proof of FAFSA completion to your high school counselor by the application deadline of April 16 to be considered for this year’s scholarships.
