Chiefs victorious against Hattiesburg Tigers

The Tylertown Chiefs played in a Spring Jamboree against Hattiesburg Friday, May 21, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. The Chiefs won their scrimmage game against Hattiesburg 6-0 in a two quarter scrimmage. The junior varsity team scrimmaged against Hattiesburg and the score was 0-0 for a 15 play offense and defense format. The team was led by Jarius Anders on an interception and return for 38 yards for a touchdown. Anders also had 6 tackles and a sack. Kyron Cowart and Ashton Jefferson also led the charge with 7 tackles a piece. Demario Harrell had a great showing with 5 tackles respectively. On the defensive front Ashton Jefferson and Eddie Ratliff, Jr., stood tall and held the Tigers in check the whole game along with Lee Holmes and Demontae Shoto. Our defensive backs were led by Kendrick Lampton, Jeremiah Dillon, Rashad Wilson, and Amerion Jefferson, Wildrekus Johnson, Jaydon Clements, and Kendrell Robertson. The defensive backs held the Tigers offense in check and limited the receiver’s from driving the ball down field and came up with big stops throughout the contest.
On the offensive side, they were led by Tyler Ellzey and Amerion Jefferson at quarterback. The dynamic duo competed and move the ball down field all night; however, didn’t get a chance to punch the ball in the red zone. Both quarterbacks made big plays and having a promising future for the fall season. Amerion Jefferson was 2 of 4 for 45 yards and 3 carries for 15 yards. Tyler Ellzey 4 carries for 35 yards. Kendrick Lampton 2 carries 8 yards and 1 catch 15 yards. Jeremiah Dillon 1 catch for 30 yards. The offensive line had an impression showing, the o-line was led by Jatylon Holloway, Demontae Shoto, Eddie Ratliff, Ashton, Jefferson, and Leroy Bruce. Lee Holmes and Preston Bullock played a major role in the spring on the offensive and defensive line.
In the junior varsity game, Wildrekus Johnson and Kadarren Gatlin played Quarterback. Johnson had big runs at quarterback, and showed versatility at different positions throughout the game. Greg Carson, Lee Holmes, Preston Bullock, Leroy Bruce, and Bralon Slocum were on the o-line for the Jv games. Wilmon Conerly, Jatavious Robertson, Devontae Manning, Jatavius Quinn, Kenitric Youngblood, Kardale Ginn, Gerrick Raiford, and Kentrell Bolden played the offensive and defensive fronts. The junior varsity defense was led by Demario Harrell and Tyren Ratliff with 6 tackles a piece. Robert Novak and Jamarcus Lewis played linebacker with one stop. The defensive backs were led by Kentreyvious Buie, Kyious Robinson, Marcus Briggs, Wildrekus Johnson, Kendarren Gatlin, Caden Magee, and Jaydon Holloway.
