Funeral services for James Dale Anthony, 75, of Jayess, were Oct. 22, 2021, at Capps Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Case officiating, interment at Boyd Cemetery.
Anthony died Oct. 19, 2021. He was born Nov. 13, 1945, in Tylertown, to the late James and Lohmer Anthony.
Anthony was a member of Magee’s Creek Baptist Church. In his younger years he was very much involved in his community coaching both his boys in baseball, a member of the Optimist club and other various things in Southern Maryland where he and his wife resided at the time. He also liked to hunt and was an avid golfer. In his later years he and his wife moved to Houston before coming back to Mississippi where he was the head man in charge of form work for Baker Concrete.
Survivors include his children Jim Woodrow Anthony and Bryan Gabriel Anthony; two granddaughters; two great- grandchildren; siblings Joan Andrews, Doyle (Brenda) Anthony, and Nell (Jimmy) Yarborough; mother of his children Brenda Carol Boyd Anthony.
Pallbearers were Roy Ginn, C. L. Harvey, Mike Anthony, Mark Anthony, Jesse (Tad) Andrews, and Allen Yarborough. Honorary pallbearers were Mitch Anthony and Jimmy Yarborough.
