Chiefs advance to second round playoffs

Tylertown’s Chiefs defeated Wesson Friday night in the first round of the 3A playoffs 44-6 to advance to the second playoff round this Friday night at Union. Union is located north of I-20 on Miss. Hwy 15 in Newton and Neshoba counties.
Union defeated West Marion last Friday to secure their spot in the second round.
The Chiefs Amerion Jefferson led the offense going 15-25 for 240 yards with three touchdown passes and one interception. Jeremiah Dillon snagged three catches for 32 yards. Jordan Anthony pulled in six catches for 100 yards with two touchdown receptions and a 64-yard punt return for a touchdown.
Tyler Ellzey had 10 rushes for 35 yards and one touchdown and three receptions for 97 yards and a receiving touchdown. Ellzey was one for one with a 35 yard passing touchdown.
Kendrell Robertson had one reception for 21 yards and a touchdown. Ahmad Thompson carried the ball nine times for 38 yards. Amerion Jefferson turned in seven rushes for 72 yards and a touchdown.
The offensive line did a great job with the run game and pass protection. The offensive line was led by Eddie Ratliff, Brandon Magee, Lontavious Thornton, Jatylon Holloway, Ashton Jefferson, Jemorrious Youngblood, Demontae Shoto, Greg Carson, Lee Holmes, Leroy Bruce, Xavier Robertson and Keimon Mcclain.
The defense dominated the night only giving up six points. On the defensive side was Jarius Anders with eight tackles, including three tackles for a loss, two hurries, and a forced fumble. Tyler Ellzey chalked up six tackles, a forced fumble, and fumble recovery. Ahmad Thompson had two tackles, a sack, two hurries and a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Rashad Wilson had two tackles and an interception. Kendrick Lampton had 10 tackles and an interception.
The defensive line was led by Wildrekus Johnson, Demontae Shoto, Jamarion Magee, Eddie Ratliff, Ahmad Thompson, Marquez James, and Lee Holmes.
