Marilyn Sue Alford, 63 of Tylertown, died Jan. 19, 2022, at the Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg. She was born Oct. 5, 1958, in Tylertown.
Known as “Aunt Sue” to many young people, she touched many foster children’s lives in her years at DHS. She had a way of making them feel important and heard. Sue loved to travel with her friends and spend time with her granddaughters
Funeral services were Jan. 22, 2022, at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown, burial in Boyd Cemetery in Tylertown, Rev. Mark Wicker officiating.
She was preceded in death by her father, Travis Alford; mother, Louise McKenzie Alford; brother, Homer Alford.
Survivors include her son Heath Alford; daughter April Rushing (Brandi); brother Troy Alford (Kathy); sister Linda Favre (Reggie); granddaughters Khloe Smith and Bayleigh Smith; best friends Beverly O’Bryant and Toni Soloway.
Pallbearers were Ross Bailey, Wesley Foil, Larry Joe Rayborn, Nick Smith, Michael Paul McKenzie, and Billy Wayne Thornhill.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Rushing, Craig Sistrunk, Tom Solowey, Heath Alford, Troy Alford, and Reggie Favre.
