Berdie Nell Johnson, 67, died Feb. 26, 2022, at her residence. She was born Jan. 12, 1955, to the late Walter (Dub) Newell and Adrine Newell. After moving to Flint, MI, she joined New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ where she served as president of pastor’s aide, hospitality president, and a licensed evangelist missionary.
She loved to cook southern food. She also enjoyed gardening, caring for her plants and animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Janice Brumfield and Carrie Newell; brother, Pastor Anthony Newell; nice, Karen Yarborough; nephews, Eric Newell, DJ and Kendrick Brumfield.
Survivors are her children, Andriennia Williams and Bryan Newell Sr.; grandchildren, LaDerrius Williams, Keondreia Williams, Bryan Newell Jr., Brent Newell, ZyKeius Williams, Derrick Newell, Darnell Newell, Bryan Brewton, Saniah Newell, Danyria Wilson, Micahai Newell, Josiah Newell and Genesis Newell; great grandchildren, LaDasia Williams, Genesis Newell, Elisha Newell, Josiah Newell and Percy Gloster Jrs; four sister, Linda Cooper, Mary McCray and Cora Ann Johnson, and Suzy Newell; two brothers, Lee (Nemyra) Newell and Sylvestus (Dinah) Newll; special niece, La’Kedia Whitaker.
Funeral services were March 12, 2022, at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel with interment at Tylertown Cemetery.
