Ellis Lee Ratliff, Jr., 57, of Jayess, died April 21, 2022, at his residence in Jayess. He was born on Nov. 5, 1964, in Tylertown to Ellis and Sarah Ratliff.
He worked several years as a construction worker alongside his father. He also was employed many years with Diamond Offshore Drilling Co. He loved doing small jobs throughout the community and could fix anything that was broken.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Harvey (Elizabeth) Ratliff Sr. and Garfield (Marie) Ratliff.
Survivors are his parents, Ellis and Sarah Ratliff of Jayess; one son, Derek (Glinda) Cowart of New Orleans; two brothers, Robert (Evelyn) Ratliff of Columbia; Al Douglas Ratliff of Jayess; one sister, Sabrina (Keith) McClain of Jayess.
Services were April 30, 2022, at New Home COCH in Jayess, Rev. Richard Thomas officiating, interment in New Home Church cemetery.
