Banks collect blankets, food, toys for needy during Christmas season

The three local banks are cooperating, acting as collection points for the needy, during the holiday season, taking donations of blankets, food and toys for distribution to needy children and families in Walthall County.
Each of the banks has set a specific cause they’re working toward in order to insure that families have necessities that most of us take for granted.
Citizens Bank’s Blankets for the Needy program serves to stockpile blankets for those who lack warm bedding for the cold winter months. A box is set up at Citizens Bank’s lobby for people to drop in their donation. Warm blankets are available for only a few dollars at local stores.
Pike National Bank contributes to the effort through their Food for the Needy campaign. A donation box is set up in the bank lobby for customers to drop off their donation of canned goods or other non-perishables for distribution through the local food pantry, as demand for food usually increases at the pantry around holidays.
Trustmark is accepting toys to be given to Adopt-a-Family so that all kids will receive a toy for Christmas. Donations can be placed in the red sleight in the Trustmark lobby.
Your donations to the projects help the needy at Christmas time.
