James Albert Ball of New Orleans, native of Walthall County, died March 20, 2023, in New Orleans. He was born Sept. 9, 1941, in Walthall County to the late Willie and Lillie Bell Lewis Ball.
He became a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age. He was emplyed by BOH Brother Construction Co. of New Orleans for over 25 years.
Ball enjoyed family gatherings, fishing and spending time with the elderly where he gained an abundance of wisdom and knowledge.
Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Willie Stean; his children, Maverick, James Earl, Corey, Carla and Angela; three step-children, Dorencela, Raymond and Latoya; a godchild, Taylor; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Oliver (Frankie); four sisters, Bertreal, Elma, Edna and Reba; one sister-in-law, Emily Ball.
Funeral services were March 25, 2023, at Mt. Moriah MBC, Rev. Raymond Gutter officiating, interment in the Mt. Moriah MBC cemetery.
