Chiefs open with 28-18 loss to Center Point

Tylertown’s Chiefs lost their season opener with a loss to Center Point, Ala., a Birmingham area school.
The Center Point Eagles returned after halftime to put two touchdowns on the board against one for the Chiefs to take the lead in the game. A scoreless fourth quarter for the Chiefs against eight points by the Eagles capped the victory by the Alabama team.
The Chiefs led at the halftime break 12-8. Failed extra points contributed to the Chiefs point deficit with Center Point ending the third quarter with a 20-18, two point lead. The unanswered touchdown and two point conversion in the final quarter sealed the victory for the Eagles.
The game was played at East Central Community College at Decatur–the halfway point between the two schools.
