Bessie Janice Vince, 82, of Sandy Hook, died Sept. 10, 2023, in Tylertown. She was born Feb. 28, 1941, in Tylertown.
Funeral services were Sept. 13, 2023, at Carson Springs Baptist Church, Sandy Hook, burial in Carson Springs Cemetery, Bro. Carl Dickens and Bro. Archie Herrin officiating.
Mrs. Vince enjoyed hosting and always making sure that everyone was fed and full; she was known for her caramel icing and cake. She raised guineas, chickens, and quail; but was most known for her peacocks. Mrs. Vince enjoyed working in her greenhouse and with her flowers but her favorite pastime was fishing for catfish.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lavon Vince; father K C Hobgood; mother Grace Reagan Hobgood.
Survivors include her son Jeffrey Vince (Brandy); daughter Tammy Bacot (Ellen Brannan); grandchildren Daniel Bacot (Courtney) and Nicholas Vince; sister, Jouette Allmand; nephew Timothy Ervin (Misty); niece Michelle Alexander.
Pallbearers were Daniel Bacot, Nicholas Vince, Jody Knight, Steven Fortenberry, Robert Hartzog, and Brent Pierce.
