THS goes to playoffs, Salem season ends

Tylertown’s Chiefs, despite a 2-8 overall and 1-3 district record, managed to place fourth in the district and will go to the first round of the 3A state football playoffs this weekend.
The Chiefs are set to play their first playoff game on the road at Jefferson Davis County Friday night.
The Chiefs finished the regular season last Thursday night with a 38-30 loss to Perry Central at New Augusta.
Salem finished their season Thursday night with a 42-0 loss to West Marion.
Both county teams played on Thursday night last week after the Mississippi High School Activities Assn. moved 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A games to Thursday with 5A, 6A and 7A games remaining on Friday because of a shortage of game officials.
