Ann Morris
Jan. 7, 1944 – March 25, 2024
Ann Johnson Morris, 80, died March 25, 2024, from complications of late stage Alzheimers Disease. She was born on Jan. 7, 1944, in Hattiesburg to Fletcher and Doris Johnson of Runnelstown. She married Bill Morris, on July 17, 1964.
She shared her love through her gift of cooking and loved to offer up grilled cheeses and bacon at the drop of a hat. She could often be found sitting on the front porch with Bill just enjoying the simple things in life.
She attended Runnelstown High School where she played basketball and was voted Most Beautiful and Homecoming Queen. She never lost her love for her birth place. She often spoke of her childhood. She and her sister Jean talked nearly every day. You could find Mrs. Morris each Sunday on the back left pew at Crystal Springs Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for 16 years.
Survivors are her husband of 59 years, Bill Morris, her sister Jean Carter (Billy) of Runnelstown; her sister-in-law Judy (William) Fortenberry of Madison; her daughter Kathy (Bruce) Knippers of Dexter; her son William (Paula) Morris of Hattiesburg; her granddaughter Noelle (BJ) Storey, her grandsons Dylan Knippers, Tripp Morris, Tucker Morris, Truitt Morris and her great granddaughter Luna Storey. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and Doris Johnson, her brothers Carl and Clay Johnson, all of Runnelstown.
There was a celebration of life March 28, 2024, at Crystal Springs Baptist Church Family Life Building.
