Caroline Marie McGowan, 70, of Monticello, died April 22, 2024, at Lawrence County Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1953, to the late Ardell Sutton and Mary Catherine Sims of Monticello. She met and married Clayton McGowan in 1975, who also preceded her in death.
She loved to shop off QVC, play crossword puzzles and go out to eat. She worked at Lawrence County Nursing Home, Bob’s Restaurant, Sanderson Farms and Sonic.
Survivors are her two sonS, Charles Sims of Silver Creek and Mark Sims of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Patience McGowan of Clarksville, TN, and Hope McGowan of Monticello.
Funeral services were April 26, 2024, at Quin Temple COGIC, Monticello, interment at South Springhill Missionary Baptist Church.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
