8U DYB All Stars fall at Brookhaven

Walthall’s 8U All-Stars were eliminated after two losses to West Jasper at the double elimination State DYB tournament played at the Lincoln County Sports Complex at Brookhaven over the weekend.
Walthall opened Friday night with a 13-3 win over Iuka.
Saturday, Walthall lost its 12 noon game to West Jasper, but came back with an 18-2 defeat of Moss Point.
The Moss Point win set up a rematch with West Jasper at 4:30, resulting in an 11-6 loss and the end of the season for the local team.
The 10U and 12U state tournaments were held at Columbia July 5-7 with both Walthall teams being eliminated. The 6U All Stars were eliminated earlier when they failed to advance following the district tournament.
