Luvesta “Lou” Wilson Black, 78, of Jayess, died Oct. 30, 2024, at his residence. She was born Dec. 23, 1945, in Tylertown to the late Eddie Wilson and Jessie Lee Montgomery.
She graduated from J.J. Gulledge Memorial High School in 1965 and then began working at Kellwood Manufacturing Co. in McComb. She married Louis Black Oct. 21, 1977.
She returned to Mississippi in 2007 and returned to West Holy Hill Church and later joined Darbun Community Worship Center.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her niece, Amanda Sartin Toney of Houston; two sisters, Willie Faye Martin of Jayess, Hilda (Wilbur) Crossley of The Colony, TX; one brother, Jessie Roy (Mariko) Wilson of North Richland Hills, TX; one aunt, Florine Wilson Hill of San Antonio, TX; four sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Wilson of New Orleans, LA, Sandra Wilson of North Richland Hills, TX, Edna Rose Wilson of Tylertown, Dorothy Wilson of Jayess.
Funeral services were Nov. 16, 2024, at Darbun Community Worship Center in Kokomo, pastor Kevin Montgomery Sr. officiating, interment in Wilson Family Cemetery, Jayess.
