James Sartin, 81, of Kokomo, died Dec. 24, 2024, at his residence. He was born March 10, 1943, in Tylertown, to the late John and Idelle Magee Sartin. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his infant daughter Leisa Dianne Sartin.
A graveside service was Dec. 27, 2024, at Magee’s Creek Cemetery in Jayess, Bro. Buddy Day officiating.
Sartin was a talented hardworking engineer of various trades however he worked his professional career many years for Southern Natural Gas Co. as a station operator until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of Magee’s Creek Baptist Church where he serviced as deacon and on numerous committees such as cemetery, grounds, and maintenance.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years Sandy Holmes Sartin; daughters, Trudi Evans (Mike) and Pam Sartin; grandsons, Luke Evans (Jessica) and Michael S. Evans; great grandchildren, Hunter Gallo and Annabelle Evans; and brother, Joe Sartin (Ann).
Pallbearers were Mike Evans, Luke Evans, Michael Evans, Dale Evans, Mark Tynes, and Jack Hartley.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Sartin, Paul Sartin, and Hunter Gallo.
