Benjamin Bernard Ratliff, 71, Sr., of Tylertown, died Dec. 30, 2024, at his residence. He was born Sept. 6, 1957, in Tylertown to the late Eddie Will and Clar Eva Anderson Ratliff.
He attended school at Francis T. Nichols High School of New Orleans and J.J. Gulledge High School in Tylertown.
He worked as an automotive mechanic. He was passionate about creating solutions and developing ideas to fix anything he encountered. He enjoyed log conservations with friends at his shop, cookouts with his family and friends, fellowshipping with his church family, fishing and drag racing. He was an active member at Darbun Community Worship Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Lugene and Lelia Magee; one sister, Mardina Peters; three brothers, Ernest Ratliff, James Ratliff Sr., and Billy Ratliff Sr; one granddaughter, Laurion Magee.
Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Emmalean Ratliff; eight children, Laurence (Betty) Magee, Sebrina (Maurice) Ratliff Jones, Eddie Ratliff Sr., Benjamin Ratliff Jr., Kenneth (Ruthie) Ratliff, Gregory (Qua’Tesha) Ratliff, Richard (Kaneshia) Ratliff and Jeremy (Addreal) Ratliff; 21 grandchildren.
Funeral services were Jan. 4, 2025, at Darbun Community Worship in Kokomo, Pastor Kevin Montgomery, Sr. officiating with interment in Ratliff Estate Cemetery.
