Julius Lee Hewitt, 73, died Jan. 23, 2025. He was born to the late Authur and Emma Mae Ratliff Hewitt on Dec. 14, 1952.
After graduating from The University of New Orleans, he worked as a cement finisher. Later he moved to Tylertown where he met Karen Magee and joined Lee’s Chapel MB Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Hewitt; one sister, Doris Kimble.
Survivors are his wife, Karen Hewitt; three children, Keisha Hewitt of Princeton, TX, Jamal Hewitt (Deanna), Julius Hewitt Jr. (Keondra), both of New Orleans; three grandchildren, Ronald and Raheem of Arizona and Rasheed Dowdell of Princeton, TX; one great grandchild, Damari Dowdell of Arizona; two step children, Andy Magee of Tunica, LA, and Antonio (Kenyatta) Magee of Petal; one God daughter Saporiah Magee.
The funeral service was Feb. 2, 2025, at Lee’s Chapel MB Church with Rev. Raymond Gutter officiating and rendering the eulogy, interment at the Bullock Family Cemetery.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
