Darrel Burdette Crain, 83, a resident of Improve, died Feb. 14, 2025 at his residence.
Darrell was a member of Stateline Missionary Baptist Church. He was a longtime electrician and worked at Bogalusa Paper Mill for 27 years until he retired. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friday night music family. Even when he wasn’t feeling well he was always ready to go to “Friday Night Singing”.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years: Veona Sorrell Crain of Improve; two daughters: Jenine Tate (Bryan McDaniel) of Ransom, KS, Cindy Ginn and Roger of Tylertown; five grandchildren: Tyler Dillon (Joy), Kristen Beard (Brennen), Jamie Painter (Jeremy), Julie Stogner (Friend Blake Mobley), Mickey Ginn (Nicole); 13 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; one sister: Elaine Smith of Pine; one sister in law: Joyce Crain.
He was preceded in death by his parents Burdette and Phylonia Kennedy Crain, sister Lisa Crain, grandmother Lillie Kennedy.
Funeral services were Feb. 17, 2025, at Stateline Missionary Baptist Church, Franklinton, with Bro. Trey Jenkins and Bro. Brent King officiating, burial in the Seal Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ricky Crain, Jeff Smith, Russell McNeil, John Ray Stogner, Tyler Dillon, Brennen Beard, Rammie Bourne
Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Thomas, Terry Thomas, Dennis Lee.
Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton was in charge of the arrangements.
