Shirley Carolyn Magee died May 22, 2025, at Forrest General Hospital. She was born June 2, 1958, in Walthall County to the late Woodrow W. Magee and Mazie Washington Magee.
She was reared in Brandon Bay and graduated Tylertown High School in 1976. She received a bachelors of science degree in business administration in 1981 at Alcorn State University. She worked at the Walthall County Tax Assessor and Collector office for 26 years.
She was a member of Brandon Bay United Methodist Church and served as lay leader and church secretary. She was a member of the Walthall County Alumni Chapter of Alcorn State University where she served as treasurer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Otto and Bertha Bullock-Magee; maternal grandparents, Leander and Edna Ross Washington; and her only sister, Sharon Paulette Magee.
Survivors are her sons: Kevin (Angie) Magee, of Baker, LA, Shaun (Angela) Magee, Terry; longtime companion, Otha Ray Roberson; her grandchildren: Ayden and Aubri Magee; brothers, Michael (Ouida) Magee, Aurora, CO, Paul (Kathy) Magee, Gena, LA, and Steven (Rochelle) magee, Tylertown; her extended family: Richard (Tamika) McCray of Cantonment, FL; uncle, Shedrow (Lucille) Magee and aunt, Emma Harness Andrews, Tylertown; nephews: De’Oljuwon McCray Jr.; nieces, Keana Smith, New Orleans, Ashley (Steve) Smith, Katy, TX, Adrienne Magee, Aurora, CO, Anika McCray, Pensecola, FL; God-children: Eumika Bullock and Rogerick “Redd” Lenoir; God-nephew, Demarri McCray and close friends: Shirley Bullock, Emelda Lott and Martha Henderson.
Funeral services were May 30, 2025, at Brandon Bay United Methodist Church, pastor Andre Tillman officiating, interment in the Brandon Bay Church Cemetery.
