Randy Joseph Rink, 61, a resident of San Antonio, TX, died at Diversicare in Tylertown June 9, 2025. He was born Aug. 11, 1963, at Sara Mayo Hospital in New Orleans.
His parents, Henry and Audrey Rink, moved their family to Tylertown in 1979. He graduated from Salem High School in 1981 and went straight to work as a welder’s helper for his dad working offshore. He started dating April in June of 1985; they married Oct. 8, 1988 in Gretna, LA. In August of 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit and his family relocated to Texas, collectively, they lived there 16 years.
Randy, known as “Gator” had various skills from interpersonal to being able to repair vehicles. He was a “jack of all trades” in a lot of areas. He used his skills in various services and sales departments; he was a well-known, reputable salesman of vehicles, he was a Bunny Bread distributor, his last position was a building maintenance technician for a 14-story building in San Antonio.
Rink was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed camping, tubing, fishing, cooking, outdoors, telling jokes, and making people laugh. He loved music, especially classic rock and he had a love for old coins and bottles. He was an antique collector.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Rink; grandparents, Herman and Earlene Schouest and Tillman and Julia Matherne.
Survivors are his wife, April Rink, son Spencer Rink (Nicole): daughter Samantha Rink; grandson Spencer Rink, Jr.; mother, Audrey Matherne Rink; sister and godchild, RaKel (Will), brothers, Reggie (Kim), Rod, Ryan (Angie), Ramsey (Laura), Reece (Cassidy).
Funeral services were June 14, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Tylertown, burial in the Rink Family Cemetery, Father Bill Henry officiating.
Pallbearers were Spencer Rink, Reggie Rink, Ryan Rink, Ramsey Rink, Reece Rink, and Terrance Authement.
